What we do and why we do it

We provide online personal coaching packages that include progressive training plans, ongoing modified nutrition plans, regular check-ins, and mobility/recovery techniques to enable full recovery and better long term results.

Our aim is to reach as many people as we can to enable the wider community to live fuller, healthier lives through a better understanding of personal health and fitness.

With that said, we don’t just “train” you or tell you what to do – We coach you. We guide you through the correct techniques and principles required to train at your peak, to eat the correct foods at the correct time and still enjoy your life!

Our core principles

Strength

STRENGTH

This is not confined to merely lifting weights. Strength training can do many great things for you. Build strength, become leaner, fitter, toned, healthier in mind and body, and of course build lean mass, with the right type of training.

Conditioning

CONDITIONING

Conditioning is not the same as cardio. This is strengthening the heart and the body by training at high intensity intervals, utilising the entire body in a functional sense. This increases metabolism and thus resting metabolism, increases functional strength and also increases blood flow being pumped from the heart (strengthening the heart). Conditioning is highly effective at combating and burning body fat.

Nutrition

NUTRITION

This is a key fundamental no matter whether you are training or not. Good nutrition does not just mean eating "healthy", it means eating a well balanced diet containing all macronutrients and essential micronutrients in quantities that not only aids you in reaching your goals, but importantly supports your lifestyle and supports your training.

Mindset

MINDSET

In all facets of life, the single biggest thing that can cloud any persons abilities, is a negative mindset. Improving your mindset means becoming open-minded, allowing for the possibility of change, accepting that without failures there are no successes (this is not a bad thing). It means preparing yourself mentally for challenges. Becoming stronger in your mind translates to becoming stronger in the body. This is a major contributor to becoming truly healthy.

I joined up with Matt’s gym in June 2016. I had been to gyms on and off for years and had limited results, mainly due to limited motivation and dedication. Matt and his team have been invaluable in helping me to get into better shape and maintain a healthier and more active lifestyle. As a high school teacher, I need to keep up with the students, and the knowledge and motivation I've received through the BGW program has made a huge impact. You know things are working when the students start to comment on how fit you're looking! This program has given me direction and focus, something I was lacking when previously trying to make health and fitness changes on my own. I feel that I have more energy, a stronger core (where previously a lower back issue had been a significant problem) and overall greater fitness.
